Claudio Antonioli – Blend contemporary taste with alternative choices in a practical way

In 1987 Claudio Antonioli opened his first project in Milan that soon became the reference point for a niche and in the know clientele. In January 2003 the store moved to Via P. Paoli 1, which formally housed one of Milan’s first silent theaters in the early 1920s. In 2009, Antonioli expanded the boutique, styled and redesigned by Vincenzo De Cotiis who gave new life to an old mechanic’s shop, creating a unique space using innovative, glistening materials. The boutique in Via P. Paoli now boasts over 400 square meters of researched and innovative ideas. The selected pieces and the interior design are a reflection of Claudio Antonioli’s personal style. The store in Milan features laminated, inclined planes which divide the space and create a reflecting game of lights. The absolute protagonists of the boutique, however, are the clothes and accessories, selected for both men and women who choose to lead the way, living their lives free from conformities.

In addition to Milan’s main boutique, Claudio Antonioli pressed his unique mark in the major shopping streets of Lugano, in Via Nassa 29, Via Nassa 66, Turin, in Piazza Carlo Emanuele II 19 and in Ibiza, Carrer de Cas Dominguets 17 c.

How long do you know Ibiza?

I’ve known Ibiza and its uniqueness since the late 80s, and soon it became one of my favorite destination, a place where all my big life-long passions, music and fashion could coexist in a perfect symbiosis. Plus, combined with good food and beautiful sea, so I thought it’d have been amazing to create something here.

Reason to open an Antonioli store in Ibiza?

I wanted to expand the Antonioli concept in a more immersive experience and I though this was the right place. The store is located in an ex former shipyard building, in the industrial area behind the Marina de Botafoch, the unusual and innovative space of 400 sqm has been transformed by the idea of the Milan’s Arch. Storage Associati in a space between an art gallery and a store. As per the other Antonioli boutiques there’s no windows or store sign, you have to ring a bell to get in.

What will be the trend color this summer?

I think everyone should wear what he or she really feels. There’s no right color or the right designer. Our clothes, accessories and our outfits just express what we are.That’s why there’s not something right and something wrong.

The only important ‘statement’ to me is to wear something that makes you feel good in it. The shape , colors and materials which characterize dresses, trousers or shoes are not simple attributes but they represent a language, through them we can tell a story: our own. I think you have just to be free from fixed schema.

We have so many top designers… hard to choose only 5! Balenciaga, Vetements, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Rick Owens, Balmain, Givenchy, Dior… And these are only few.
