GFN is an abbreviation for 'Grup de Fotografia Nocturna', a group of four friends who have shared the same passion for the past few years: night-time photography.
Their interest developed in different ways and almost by chance as they began making images of all the beautiful spots in Ibiza and Formentera during the hours of darkness, thereby producing an unconventional and astonishing vision.
Their initial excursions became more and more frequent and what started out as a passing hobby has since become a semi-obsession, culminating in a decision to form their own society.
They have already staged a number of exhibitions (Sa Punta des Moli 2003, Club diario de Ibiza 2005) and workshops (Cabo de Gata 2004, Parc deSes Salines July 2006) as well as having their photos published in several magazines (‘Foto’ 2003, ‘La Fotografia’ 2005). Their activities have cost them quite a few hours beauty sleep.
Members of the public are amazed when they view these photos. They often think they are seeing works of modern art or computer-generated images. But the photographers insist that, whilst their work represents an advance both in terms of technology and creative technique, they have not subjected their images to any form of post-production or digital enhancement. Most of their work is available as slides for projection and the only extra thing they do here is to exploit the lighting. Paradoxically, the night makes it easier for them to set up shots that can take minutes or even hours.
They are currently working on a project of immense scope and hope one day to publish a book in tandem with a major exhibition. But their main concern for now is to continue producing pictures and carry on developing their craft so that they achieve results at least as good as the day they first decided to set up their tripods in the middle of the night in the speculative hope of getting a half-decent picture.

No, no, no. We are neither trying to be nostalgic nor debating the virtues of analogic vs digital again but simply informing you that every Thursday in the bar of Las Dalias you have the chance to dust down the vinyl collection...
Cala Bassa is in the news this month and not precisely because it is the best moment to enjoy the beach from one of CBBC beachbeds – which are fantastic – but because of the arrival of the City of Ibiza quadriathlon to celebrate its 12th edition.
This year it will be 40 years since the first fashion show that gave rise to Pasarela Adlib. To celebrate it, the Island Council has organised an exhibition that it has called 'The Adlib Revolution'.
The best thing is to be an electronic music fanatic and to discover in person how, when, and why Luciano, Carl Cox and Oakenfold managed to become what they are.
The direction taken by the legendary multi-purpose venue last summer pointed to interesting changes with respect to its becoming a platform for music, art, fashion and gastronomy.
