Eivissa presents the collective exhibition cARTón in Berlin
10. March 2011 | 00:31
The Town Council of Eivissa presented the collective exhibition cARTón last year within the setting of the fourth Creativity Show, a biannual event that brings together all kinds of artistic ventures. In its own right the collective earned the chance to travel to other cities, both Spanish and European, and to become the luxury companion of the tourist attractions that Eivissa presents at international fairs.
The artists that make up the cast of cARTón received unique creative instructions. They had to take cardboard – a simple material that is closely related to the islands to which everything arrives necessarily protected by this type of packaging - as a sole starting point and from there develop their own creative line. The result is highly interesting and features Pedro Asensio, Michel Buades, Jaume Marí, Alejandro Marí Escalera, Lula Martins, Gabriel Morera, Enric Riera, Luis Romero, Josep Rosales, Renato Steinmeyer, Lina Torres Andiñach, Rafel Tur Costa, Antonio Villanueva, Bonet Vallribera and Jean Willie.
With this exhibition Eivissa demonstrates its firm intention to associate the island internationally with other products and tourist attractions that go beyond sun, beach and nightlife. As a refuge and paradise for national and international creators, the city has a first rate cultural, heritage and artistic offer that will leave none of the visitors to this destination, that has been declared world heritage site by Unesco, indifferent.

No, no, no. We are neither trying to be nostalgic nor debating the virtues of analogic vs digital again but simply informing you that every Thursday in the bar of Las Dalias you have the chance to dust down the vinyl collection...
Cala Bassa is in the news this month and not precisely because it is the best moment to enjoy the beach from one of CBBC beachbeds – which are fantastic – but because of the arrival of the City of Ibiza quadriathlon to celebrate its 12th edition.
This year it will be 40 years since the first fashion show that gave rise to Pasarela Adlib. To celebrate it, the Island Council has organised an exhibition that it has called 'The Adlib Revolution'.
The best thing is to be an electronic music fanatic and to discover in person how, when, and why Luciano, Carl Cox and Oakenfold managed to become what they are.
The direction taken by the legendary multi-purpose venue last summer pointed to interesting changes with respect to its becoming a platform for music, art, fashion and gastronomy.
