6th Roman and Carthaginian Festival

If you live in Sant Antonio and are spoiling for a good fight, you can turn up in helmet and sandals on El Arenal beach at 7pm on 3rd September and join one of the two rival armies. From around 5pm onwards the following day (4th September), the beach will be transformed into a battlefield. After a seaborne landing, Sant Antonio’s population, who are dressed up in period costume, mount a spirited defence, using tomatoes as ammunition.
