Now, their amazing brainchild\u2014 Heart\u2014made up in equal parts of art, gastronomy and music\u2014is a reality.<\/p>\n<p>Situated in what was once Ibiza casino\u2019s restaurant, Jackpot, Heart lies at the very centre of the island\u2019s golden mile. It\u2019s an ideal location for the brothers\u2014seeking somewhere close to Barcelona\u2014as well as circus \u00fcber-entrepreneur and Ibiza resident and devotee, Guy Lalibert\u00e9. Given their backgrounds, you might expect haute cuisine and breathtaking acrobatic shows to take centre stage. On the contrary, what really united them was their aim to do something entirely different: something where art and performance art would be the chief inspiration for the food and where the public would come away genuinely surprised and stimulated. \u201cWe want to get people thinking and talking. This is a laboratory of ideas\u201d, adds the voluble Basque events specialist and part owner, Busturia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-large wp-image-8323 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/ibiza-style.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/heart-ibiza-style-006-710x473.jpg\" alt=\"heart-ibiza-style-006\" width=\"669\" height=\"446\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Musically, Heart\u2019s three big nights are Tuesday\u2019s \u201cHeart Factory\u201d, Thursday\u2019s \u201cBoho\u201d, and \u201cAcid Sundays,\u201d under the aegis of Berlin meister DJ Acid Pauli. Heart Factory will be a pairing of live acts and electronic music, as exemplified on its opening event on June 30th that featured an innovative collaboration between Ibiza\u2019s techno overlord, Sven V\u00e4th, and world-renowned piano wunderkind, Nils Frahm. The Boho party on Thursdays will be a more \u201cunderground\u201d affair with the accent on live performances while Acid Sundays has all the makings of an epic Ibiza party: a synergy of ever-evolving, Berlin-style techno and plenty of thematic input from all over the world. With recent Acid Sunday parties based on such themes as \u201ctrip to heart\u201d and \u201cwe are the imagination of ourselves\u201d, it is clear Heart promises to push the boundaries of what people generally believe club culture is about. On the other \u201cstandard\u201d nights\u2014known as Heart Beat events, Ibiza\u2019s many talented groups will be showcased alongside house band, The Johnny Freelance Experience. The emphasis will be on funk and soul and having lots of fun.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 both' \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Upstairs, Heart\u2019s ample 800m\u00b2 Terrace offers visitors splendid views of Dalt Vila, <i>in-situ <\/i>art, dynamic performances that change daily, Balearic beats, and the chance to wander among stalls offering high class international street food with that unmistakable Adri\u00e0 touch.\u00a0 It\u2019s an inviting, laidback, open-air space with free entry (food vouchers cost \u20ac80; drinks extra) that looks set to become an \u201cin\u201d spot among clubbers enjoying a pre-party drink. According to Frank Helpin, its charming Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois\u00a0hospitality director, the Terrace is \u201cthe hippie market of the future\u201d. What we\u2019re doing is highly experimental; this collision of art and food is designed to provoke surprise and intrigue among the public. When you come here, you feel like you\u2019re entering an art space where artists are constantly experimenting. At the same time, the island itself features heavily; much of what you see is inspired in the world of Ibiza: its <i>payesas<\/i> and fishermen, its flora, even its graffiti\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Underpinning everything at this dazzling new venue\u2014designed by top Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola\u2014is the concept of art and performance art. Diners and clubbers will thus find themselves surrounded by site-specific avant-garde art from international artists such as Takashi Murakami, Miguel Chevalier, Richard Long, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and the London-based collective UVA, interactive projections, installations and ongoing exhibitions curated by Ventana Contemporary Ibiza, and Art Projects Ibiza. And that\u2019s in addition to cutting-edge international and local painters, urban dancers, gorgeous muses, muralists, contemporary dancers and choreographers. Not for nothing is the venue\u2019s name, Heart, made up of the words \u201chuman art\u201d. If this place doesn\u2019t turn out to be a complete game-changer at the nucleus of the island\u2019s ever-evolving scene, frankly, I don\u2019t know what will.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style>\n\t\t\t#gallery-2
