There are certain people whose lives become a bridge between worlds. Kamelia Adib is one of them. Entrepreneur, cultural advocate and curator, Kamelia has spent more than a decade championing creativity, preserving heritage and connecting artisans with a global audience. We were invited into her private space to discuss her projects to date and discover how “Hich House” in Ibiza reflects not only her Persian roots but also the spiritual energy that has drawn seekers, artists and visionaries to Ibiza for generations.
Leaving Iran in 2006 opened the door to a new chapter of discovery. From Dubai to London, Kamelia immersed herself in the worlds of communication, luxury and design, graduating with a Master’s degree in Media Communications and an MBA in High End Brand Management. Her passion for creativity also drew her to Central Saint Martins, where she studied Fashion Styling and began developing the distinctive aesthetic vision that continues to influence her work today.
Kamelia’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged early. In 2015, she launched Kadib, the first fashion e-commerce store in Iran, pioneering a way for independent designers and artisans to reach audiences far beyond their immediate communities. Yet commercial success was never the primary objective. Instead, Kamelia was driven by a deeper purpose: to preserve Persian creative heritage and empower the women whose hands carried these skills forward in Persia.
During her extensive studies and worldwide travel, Kamelia recognised a demand for more distinct fashion: fusing traditional Persian craft techniques with contemporary design. Every piece told a story. Every stitch represented hours – sometimes weeks – of meticulous craftsmanship. In an age increasingly dominated by fast fashion and mass production, Kadib offered something rare: authenticity. It provided Persian artists with a platform to share their arts with a global audience, ensuring that centuries-old traditions and creative legacies could continue to thrive.
Kadib opened a flagship store in Berlin alongside its online presence in 2019 and went on to host 44 pop-up events worldwide. At a time when political sanctions and international trade restrictions made global visibility exceptionally challenging, Kadib became more than a business. It created possibilities and a voice for hidden talents in Persia.
In 2024, Kamelia pressed pause on Kadib pending political sanctions being lifted. This gave her the time and energy to focus on a collaborative project with her friend. Together, they created not only space, but also a sanctuary for friends, family and like-minded creatives. A philosophy made physical.
Nestled within the natural beauty of Ibiza, “Hich House” represents the culmination of life experiences and a continuation of Persian cultural influences and spiritual beliefs. The name itself offers insight into its essence.
In Persian philosophy, “Hich” translates loosely as “Nothingness”– not as emptiness, but as potential. It carries profound spiritual significance and can be interpreted as the state into which we are born: a blank canvas, free from ego, expectation and limitation.
This concept became the guiding principle behind the entire project.
Designed by Soheil Farahani, the arched entrance symbolises the journey from the external world to an inward, immersive experience. In keeping with Persian architectural traditions, guests enter across a modern Persian fountain of gently flowing water – a timeless symbol of purification and divine blessing marking the shift from the busy public realm into a peaceful, private sanctuary. It is a subtle gesture, yet profoundly meaningful.
Every detail within Hich House has been conceived with intention. At the entrance, a painting by Roos Dessing “Emerging into Nothingness’ features a poetic calligraphy by well-known musician Bahram J. Natural materials, conscious design choices and handcrafted elements create an atmosphere that feels both high-end and deeply grounding. In a space dedicated to relaxation, Ibicencan artist Lala has meticulously handcrafted a floor mandala composed of more than 4,500 brass pieces. Designed to encourage the harmonious flow of energy throughout both body and space, it serves as a quiet focal point for contemplation and renewal.
Art plays a central role throughout the home, with works by Persian and Ibicencan artists elegantly woven into its design like the sustainable artistic lamps and an organic sculptural pergola by artist Oren Heknin. An expertly crafted table depicts Iran and Ibiza side by side. A magic carpet appears to float effortlessly in the background alongside pieces by Ibiza-based designer Jasmien Hamed. Each room feels thoughtfully curated yet organic, named after Persian poets such as Rumi, Hafez, …and layered with meaning rather than mere decoration. There is a sense that every object has been chosen not merely for its aesthetic value but for the story it carries.
Beyond its reputation as a global destination, Ibiza has long attracted those searching for transformation, inspiration and deeper connection. Artists, musicians, healers and free thinkers have gravitated to the island for decades, drawn by an energy that feels difficult to define but impossible to ignore.This private space speaks directly to that spirit. It is a space where cultural heritage and conscious living coexist harmoniously. A place where craftsmanship is honoured, where beauty serves a purpose and where slowing down becomes an act of intention.
Kamelia always shared the vision that “Hich House” would be much more than a home. Its higher purpose is as a place for friends to gather, to experience, to inspire each other, free from constraints. It is a reflection of their personal journeys to date as well as a celebration of Persian heritage. A reminder that when cultures meet through creativity and respect, something truly beautiful can emerge.
