As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention, and calling on his famous wine writer of a brother, Harold, Jeroen set about rectifying this. 2009 saw the first mixed pallet arrive from Holland, intended for Jeroen’s private cellar. His friends got wind of the wine selection and in no time at all, he found he had sold most of it and had to order more pallets. This led him to establish a little shop in Can Bellotera.  Soon is daughter Rosa joined him in the business.

Today, business is booming and this delightful little shop offers a plethora of amazing wines, wine consultancy, restaurant supply and door-to-door service, and some great events.

Vino&Co starts the beginning of the season with Festival de Vinos, on the last Saturday of April. This event, now in its fifth year, attracts a large international crowd and takes place in the garden of Sluiz. A great selection of winemakers represented by Vino&Co come to the island to promote their wines and this is an excellent opportunity to meet the people behind the wines you love. Over 100 wines and champagnes are available for tasting and it’s a date worth putting in the diary.

In the winter, the wonderful “BebeViernes” are hosted on Friday afternoons, a great networking and social opportunity, where they offer 20 wines by the glass to taste.

Also in the winter, every second Thursday of the month, Vino&Co has a platform for Ibiza private chefs and restaurants to show off their food. At this Table d’hôte, there is a set 5-7 course dinner menu paired with wine, available by the glass or bottle.  Rather wonderfully, you can also pick any bottle from the shelves to drink. Dates and menus are on their website and Facebook page.

“To discover the hidden gems of the wine world – that is our passion.”

This family run business provides a friendly and informative place to purchase wine, and focuses on delicious smaller brands from across the globe as well as a fantastic selection of organic wine (even boasting an organic champagne).

They have a wonderful variety of the most exciting Spanish wines currently being produced, from lesser-known varietals and intriguing winemakers. They also have a great choice of foreign wines. High quality French wine from Chablis and Pouilly Fumé to Bordeaux, and Italian, Portuguese, Austrian and German wine. If you are a wine lover, it’s like being a child in a sweet shop! Since their wines are from lesser-known wineries, they manage to keep their prices competitive and their range goes from €5 to €200 for a very high-quality, special wine. Vino&Co has expanded to other products such as Sherry, Sake and a highly regarded, organic wodka, gin and rum and also an classic oldstyle Vermut from Distellerie Farthofer.

Last year saw the launch of their new website and web shop, where you can place an online order, whether that’s for pick up at the shop or for delivery to your villa.

Jeroen and his daughter Rosa love to share their passion for wine, promoting it as an adventure, for all to enjoy. Make sure to drop by the shop and meet this wonderful family. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for frequent events and promotions during both the summer season and winter.
