Why go to all the trouble of going to Munich for the Oktoberfest when you can be served the beer festival’s original culinary delights here in Ibiza? At Factory Bar & Smokehaus, the large room and the terrace are turning into a beer tent on October 5th. Original Oktoberfest beer and Weißbier will be flowing in streams – and, of course, there is also going to be a hearty fruit schnapps. So that it all goes down well and to provide a sound basis, a delicious plate of appetisers and several hearty dishes will be offered – because the partying is going to go on from 12 midday until late in the night.
And to make your mouths start to water already, here is a preview of the tasty Bavarian delicacies: The hors d’oeuvre plate includes meatballs (rissoles) made with fresh obatzda (a Bavarian cheese delicacy), smoked trout fillet, radishes and gherkins. There are freshly baked pretzels to go with them.
Needless to add, genuine Weißwürste (white sausages) with sweet mustard will also feature in addition to small Nuremberger roast sausages with sauerkraut or – for those who like something larger – authentic Thüringer bratwurst. The highlights, however, are the suckling pig knuckles and the meat loaf. Munich-style potato salad will also be served. As the crowning finale, lightly warmed apple strudel with vanilla custard will be offered.
Then, depending on how you feel, you can either earn these calories with sporting fun and games or burn them off again by taking part in the tug of war, playing darts, at the coconut shy or Schuhplattler dancing on the Oktoberfest grounds beside the marquee.
