Great news for all lovers of good wine and of antipasti freshly made on the premises. The D’Ambrosio family, who have made such a huge success of the ‘Trattoria del Mar’ in Marina Botafoch, have now taken over the former ‘Baccus’ in the village of Jesús. Following extensive renovation work, the restaurant opened in early April as ‘La Vineria’. The name says it all. The shelves are stacked out with a massive selection of international wines, many as weekly specials so you can order by the glass. On the wine list, you will find 200 different labels, mainly of Spanish, Italian or French provenance, but also some from far-flung lands such as New Zealand or Uruguay. And to accompany these, there is an array of freshly prepared antipasti and light snacks, so you can easily compose your own menú de degustación and try a bit of everything. All of this at very attractive prices. On weekdays, you can also order a lunch at bargain prices. There is a choice between three starters, three main courses and two desserts. The ambience is totally authentic: the restaurant interior is dominated by seemingly endless wine racks and the outside tables are pleasantly framed between vines and olive trees. The kitchen is open between 1pm and 4.30pm for lunch and in the evenings between 7.30pm and midnight (closed Sundays).
